A Health & Social Care Apprenticeship is a combination of on and off the job training and learning. The aim of the intermediate level apprenticeships and advanced level apprenticeships in health and social care is to contribute to building a well-qualified workforce by providing work-based training and development for individuals 16 years and over. Already, more than 130,000 employers offer apprenticeships.


1. 100 per cent funding is available for apprentices aged 16 to 18 years
2. 80% of employers who employ apprentices agree they make their workplace more productive.
3. No administrative burden - the learning providers will administer the
paper work
4. Apprentices are paid to learn on the job
5. Apprenticeships are a flexible learning and development strategy for both new and existing employees
