Fylde teenager Lauren Dudley is celebrating after being named ‘Employee
of the Month’ at Book2Go Travel, based in Westby, near
Lytham.
Lauren, 17, is a Beneast Apprentice, and had only been with
the company a few months when she won the award.
It was Book2Go Travel’s first ever Employee of the Month
award, and Lauren’s success was even more remarkable when
you consider she was up against competition from more than 100
of her colleagues, all striving to win the award – and
the £100 cash prize that goes with it.
No doubt, the triumph has lent Lauren wings in her new career
in the travel industry.
Warehouse operative Jordan Cottam has been working at Holt
Jackson Book Services Ltd, a leading supplier of library books,
for three years. He’s spent the last 12 months completing
his Apprenticeship in Warehouse & Distribution.
Jordan’s qualification is tailor-made for his job in
the department and provides the knowledge and understanding for
him to do his job competently.
Jordan went to Carr Hill School in Kirkham and, as he admits,
was happy to start work as soon as possible on leaving. The apprenticeship
gives him a way to get workplace qualifications, useful experience – and
a wage at the same time.
Jordan will be getting an NVQ Level 2 in Warehouse & Distribution,
Key Skills Level 1 in Communication and Application of Number
and Key Skills Level 2 in Improving Own Learning and Working
with Others.
